COASTWEEKS ~ September 25, 2010 ~ SAVE THE DATE!
CALLING ALL FRIENDS OF LAKE ERIE!
Get involved to protect and restore our Lake Erie watershed. Ohio’s Coastweeks program is an expression of individuals’ commitment to clean and safe beaches and waterways – it’s all about doing something responsible for the environment.
Green your stream with a Coastweeks cleanup.
WHEN DOES COASTWEEKS TAKE PLACE?
Ohio’s Coastweeks – International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day is Saturday, September 25, 2010
and the Ocean Conservancy’s 25th Anniversary Celebration of the ICC!
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
· Select a beach, stream, river or a special event location to clean;
· Pick a “catchy” name for your event; and
· Gather your friends and invite your community to participate and celebrate Lake Erie!
WHAT THE COASTWEEKS COORDINATORS WILL DO FOR YOU:
· Provide you with a “TOOLKIT” of information to get you started;
· Promote your event at our website and in press releases, publish your event in the Coastweeks Times, and provide event information to various nature centers, state parks, libraries, and points-of-interest along Lake Erie; and
· Provide cleanup materials for your event.
Your Ohio Coastweeks 2010 Coordinators are:
Linda Zmudzinski and Chris Riddle at the Ohio Lake Erie Commission Office
